As a leadership skills consultant I am often the one to be sharing a strategy or tip to help leaders grow. What Changes When Leaders Meet Face-To-Face?

For many years I have been partnering with an organization to provide leadership training for many different industries. As with any long-term collaboration, we sometimes disagree or view the customer challenges from different perspectives. If we end up being on opposite pages of thinking, we talk it through to come up with a solution that we both could live with. But recently things started to change. Five Reasons Honest Feedback Empowers Leaders

This past week I reconnected with a woman in an organization I partner with frequently. She is relatively new to her job and wants to propel the institution forward in a big way. She has a dream and a vision but limited resources. This is how the conversation went:

Her question to me: “ I have a potential client for you to work with but I need to know immediately if you are available on those dates.”

To which I responded: “ I am available but have a question about the program.”

What Is The Best Way For Leaders To Learn Their Business?

My father was a salesman. He owned a small storm window and storm door business that he was very proud of. He worked very hard trying to grow his company as economic changes often dictated different conditions. He had an entrepreneurial spirit that never allowed him to give up or quit. Whenever I would ask him how he learned all about his products and services he would always say the same thing:

“ I learned everything about my business from my customers. They taught me the ins and outs of my industry and how to be successful.”
